The Department of Athletic Mental Performance (AMP) strives to provide specialized mental health and/or sport performance support to student-athletes at The University of Memphis. Our specialized approach includes a model of care that is designed with consideration of the unique demands and stressors faced by student-athletes. We offer a variety of services including, but not limited to, consultations for both mental health and sport performance, individual counseling/psychotherapy sessions, individual sport performance sessions and more.
In attempt to provide accessible support for our student-athletes, we offer both in-person and virtual (video telehealth) sessions to accommodate the demanding schedules of student-athletes. Additionally, we have two location options available for in-person appointments. Our primary office is located on The U of M main campus, and our satellite office is located on The U of M Park Avenue Campus.
All services provided by AMP are free to student-athletes at The University of Memphis. There is no limit as to how much student-athletes can utilize services. Appointment frequency and the plan of support will be decided by the clinician and the student-athlete.
All services provided by AMP are available only to student-athletes at The University of Memphis. Students seeking support who are not athletes should contact The University of Memphis Counseling Center at 901-678-2068 or visit their on-campus office located in Wilder Tower.
